Toshio Saeki's new edition work, “HEROINE,” was produced by FARIBOLES Productions, a figure maker with a workshop based in Normandy, France. Made entirely of resin and finished by hand, FARIBOLES figures are renowned by collectors worldwide for their exquisite craftsmanship and beauty. This piece was inspired by a rare set of four illustrations published in the magazine “Yaseijidai” in 1974, a pivotal period in Saeki's career. The richly curvaceous beauty in Saeki's drawings vividly captures the process of a young girl’s growth into adulthood. The melancholy and enigmatic expression on the heroine's face leaves a profound impression on viewers. As in his early works and the book “Gokuraku-cho,” the artist intentionally employs the colors black, white, and red to evoke a distinctive visual atmosphere.
